BWB was founded in Nottingham in 1990 and over the past 33 years has played a significant role in making Nottingham the great city it is today.
We have proudly contributed to many of the most notable and major developments in the city, from the Corner House and Trinity Square on the northside of the city centre, the Hicking Building in the Southside Regeneration area, Beeston Town Centre redevelopment to the west and the River Crescent residential development on the banks of the River Trent.
Our growth through delivering projects such as those above, has recently cumulated in a huge highlight of the year for BWB, that being judged to be the Best Large UK Consultant from a shortlist of some of our industry's biggest and best-known names at the Association for Consultancy and Engineering (ACE) awards.
These prestigious annual awards celebrate outstanding achievement within our profession by championing the best people, projects and companies from the world of engineering consultancy and the built environment.
BWB was also recently recognised by Investors in People for our outstanding achievements in people development and corporate culture and was awarded the highest Platinum status - the only Large UK Engineering Consultancy to obtain this recognition.
In our home city of Nottingham, we are currently working on delivering the new 348 apartment PRS project on Queens Road with Blocwork and Graham. The project is a new residential development located adjacent to the railway station that comprises a 10-storey residential block with commercial units to the first floor.
The project is built over critical Severn Trent drainage infrastructure which required the entire centre block of the building to be suspended across a no-pile zone, engineering the structure to span over the CSO (combined sewer overflow) chamber to avoid loading a critical piece of sewer infrastructure.
Also recently completed is the 703 bed student accommodation at Deakins Place, Nottingham. The building rises to 7 storey built within an active flood plain with BWB having provided multidisciplinary services on the project.
By inspecting the existing sheet pile retaining wall along the River Leen, and advising that it should remain structurally adequate for at least another 30 years, the development could then proceed without objection from the Environment Agency.
Having recently completed, it is anticipated that this will provide significant benefits to the surrounding businesses as well as increase access to the local universities.
Of further note, BWB is very proud to have worked alongside Nottingham City Council and Galliford Try in delivering the now multi award winning Broadmarsh Car Park and Bus Station, which includes the new Central Library. The project represents an important first step in revitalising the southern gateway to the city centre.
As part of the regeneration of the southern gateway, BWB have been involved in a number of other high profile projects, having recently completed the new Unity Square office building opposite Nottingham station for Sladen Estates and Peveril Securities, the new Vita student accommodation on Station Street and the 350 apartment Saffron Court PRS scheme on Crocus Street for Cassidy Group.

Of huge importance to BWB is supporting the communities where we work, as such we have chosen this year to support BASE51 as our regional charity.
BASE51’s values of inclusion, an emphasis on physical and mental well-being, and support to allow young people to be their whole selves, resonates strongly with our core values to care, transform, integrate and challenge.
All of us at BWB are looking forward to working closely with BASE51 to make Nottingham a more sustainable place for our young people, and further complementing our involvement here by supporting STEM activity in our local schools.
Our regional focus is complemented by our global reach, as 2017 saw BWB become part of the CAF Group, an international transport engineering giant.
Being part of CAF has allowed us to expand our capabilities into pure infrastructure and rail engineering, which has enhanced our position to provide integrated engineering solutions to complex urban regeneration projects in Nottingham and beyond.
With our head office in the city centre, BWB continues to play an important role in the regeneration of Nottingham and the surrounding area.
