Midlands architecture firm welcomes Annette and Alvaro to its growing team

Architecture and construction consultancy YMD Boon has announced the appointment of two new members of staff to accommodate its growing portfolio.

YMD Boon, which celebrates 50 years of business this year, has offices in Nottingham, Derby, Lincoln and Market Harborough and works on high-profile schemes throughout the Midlands and nationally.

Annette Appleton and Alvaro Munoz have joined the firm at its Derby office as office manager and architectural assistant, respectively.

Annette, from Swanwick, brings with her 12 years of experience in the education sector, where she most recently worked as a school business manager.

In her new role as office manager, she will be responsible for a variety of office tasks to ensure the smooth running of the office on a day-to-day basis, utilising her previous experience of managing a busy school office.

Annette said: “I was drawn to YMD Boon’s vision for the future and the work it does in the education sector and I plan to bring my own knowledge, skills and experience of this sector to this exciting new role. With so many interesting projects in the pipeline, it’s a great time to be joining the team. I am excited to be progressing my career in this industry with the full support of the YMD Boon team.”

Alvaro, who lives in Nottingham, joins YMD Boon as an architectural assistant and technician as he works towards becoming a fully qualified architect and studies for his RIBA Part 3 qualification.

In his new role, Alvaro will assist the YMD Boon team on various projects mainly in the education sector across the Midlands.

Alvaro said: “It is a privilege to learn from the YMD Boon team as I study to become fully qualified, especially in regards to the variety of projects and hands on experience I’m getting in such a collaborative working environment. I’m very grateful for this opportunity and for the support that YMD Boon are giving me.”
