As well as its niche law practice, Devello will offer a high-level strategic advisory service to developers, landowners, promoters, investors and others in the planning and development sectors. The team will be involved from the outset of a deal being negotiated to ensure that legal constraints are considered. The team can also manage the entire project for the client to ensure a smooth process.

Devello play a key role in guiding and collaborating on planning strategy for a regional housebuilder who has multiple Green Belt sites which are at different stages of promotion through a local plan process, planning applications or through appeals. We work with the client to overcome significant local opposition by demonstrating the project's long-term benefits for the community, alongside co-ordinating legal advice across all areas to enable the client to obtain a successful site promotion or to set the stage for a successful appeal. The work involves appearing at and making representations at local plan hearing sessions, instructing Counsel where necessary, preparing required planning obligations as well as co-ordinating on the legal aspects of any appeals, working alongside the wider consultant teams.
