Willmott Dixon

Willmott Dixon is a privately-owned construction and interior fit-out company, proudly led by Chairman Rick Willmott, who represents the fifth generation of leadership. Since its inception in 1852, the company has firmly committed to sustainability and social value, striving to create a positive social, environmental, and economic impact.

As a ProCon Patron, they are excited to maintain close collaboration with clients in Nottinghamshire, focusing on developing spaces that empower businesses, communities, and individuals to grow, thrive, and find inspiration.

In 2022, Willmott Dixon introduced the Decarbonise Today service to enhance public sector organisations' efforts in securing Government funding aimed at improving property energy efficiency. This initiative also includes facilitating upgrade works and conducting post-completion energy performance analysis. This service aligns with its Now or Never strategy, which aims for zero-carbon operations by 2030 without relying on offsets, while also supporting customers to achieve similar goals.

As a major contractor, Willmott Dixon engages in a diverse range of projects across sectors such as residential, education, law enforcement, science and technology, commercial, and healthcare. Notable local projects include Broadmarsh Green Heart, collaboration with Gedling Borough Council on Ambition Arnold, Newark & Sherwood's Ollerton Regeneration Scheme, and a Department for Education project at Outwood Academy in Kirkby.

In 2022, the company highlighted the construction industry as an appealing career choice by winning the Big Company category at the Best Companies Awards, recognising the UK's top workplaces. Their recognition continued into 2023, receiving the inaugural King’s Awards for Enterprise for promoting opportunity and 2024 for sustainable development. Additionally, Willmott Dixon has secured a spot in the FT Diversity Leaders list for the fifth time, showcasing their commitment to leadership in Diversity & Inclusion.

While operating nationally, the presence of regional offices, including one in Nottingham city centre, allows for a localised approach. This is evident in their focus on working with local companies whenever feasible, achieving over 80% local spend and labour within 20 miles of the Broadmarsh Green Heart project, and more than £3 million in social return on investment.
